IGF-1 LR3 is a synthetic peptide and lengthened analogue of human insulin-like growth factor 1. With a half-life of between 20 and 30 hours it is three times as effective as HGF1. Human insulin-like growth factor 1 is a protein hormone, and in the body, it’s produced naturally in the liver. It functions a little like insulin. Its effect is to move nutrition into the muscle cells. When it reaches those cells, it is used to build and repair muscle tissue. Importantly, it stimulates the growth of new muscle tissue, unlike other supplements which only work to repair existing tissue. It also operates on connective tissue, in the digestive system, particularly the intestines, and in the bones.
